General information
- What is the estimated time that we will be in the Christmas Market Municipal Cave because we now need to reserve an arrival time and buy other tickets?
Count on a visiting time of approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours for the Christmas Market Municipal Cave.
- How many people can enter per time slot?
No more visitors than that the safety in the cave can be largely guaranteed. Time slots are per half an hour so that we limit queues as much as possible.
- Is the Christmas Market Municipal Cave accessible for wheelchair users or other disabled?
Yes, the Christmas Market Municipal Cave is wheelchair accessible.
- Can I bring my dog into the caves?
No, unfortunately your dog (or other pet) is not allowed inside. Not even in a dog carriage, bag or similar object. This is done for the safety of humans and animals. There is an exception for assistance dogs, they are allowed.

- Can I pin at the stalls at the Christmas Market Municipal Cave?
This is possible at various stalls, but not all exhibitors have an ATM. It is therefore advisable to take this into account and to bring cash with you.
Groups & Tour operators
- What is the ticket price for groups?
For tour operators, large groups and other companies there is the possibility to buy tickets with a discount at a price of € 8.50 per person from Monday to Thursday and € 9.50 per person on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A minimum purchase of at least 20 tickets per order applies.
- Can I buy and pay for tickets online last minute? We don't know yet whether the day trip will go ahead.
The tickets are sold on time slots and full = full. It is therefore wise to buy tickets in advance. There may be no more tickets available last minute online. For groups, the tour operator may cancel up to a maximum of 10% of the booking no later than 10 working days before the visit. Cancellations can be made by email to kerstmarkt.gemeentegrot@valkenburg.nl.
- What about groups? Can we go in at the same time?
Depending on the number of tickets you can buy per available time block, the groups can enter in that composition if the applicable corona measures are adhered to.
- Can our bus driver or tour guide get free entrance?
Groups of 40 or more people can take one driver or tour leader with them for free. Of course he/she also needs a ticket. A request for the ticket can be done in advance by e-mail to kerstmarkt.gemeentegrot@valkenburg.nl as soon as the tickets for the customers are ordered. It is not possible to get a ticket at the event, you need to arrange this in advance.
- Can we also buy tickets at the ticket office at the entrance?
There is no longer a day ticket office at the entrance of the Christmas Market Municipal Cave. So buy tickets online in advance and reserve your spot.
Tickets
- Where do I buy tickets?
We recommend ordering your tickets in advance via the ticket shop on our website. Tickets are available by date and time slot. Place your tickets in the shopping basket and pay for your order. Please make sure you have selected the correct date and time slot. You can then download the tickets immediately, and they will also be sent to your email address.
In addition to our online ticket shop, there is also a box office on site, but especially on busy days, it is uncertain whether tickets will still be available at the time of your visit. That is why we always recommend ordering your tickets online (well) in advance.
- What payment methods can I use?
You can pay with iDEAL, Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Payconiq, Mastercard and Visa.
- Can I also buy a ticket at the ticket office at the entrance?
There is no longer a day ticket office at the entrance of the Christmas Market Municipal Cave. So buy your tickets online in advance and reserve your spot.
- If we report the number of tickets and dates of our visit in time, can we also enter without having purchased tickets in advance?
No, tickets can only be purchased online in advance.
- I bought tickets for the time block from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Do I have to leave the cave within half an hour?
No, the half hour time block gives you time to enter the cave between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
- Are there also group tickets?
Yes, for tour operators, large groups and other companies there is the possibility to buy tickets with a discount at a price of € 8.50 per person from Monday to Friday and € 9.50 per person on Saturday and Sunday. A minimum purchase of at least 20 tickets per order applies. You can also buy these tickets online in our ticket shop.
- I come with children under 4 years old. These are free right?
Yes, that's right, children from 0 to 4 years old are free. However, they do need a ticket to enter, so order a special free kids ticket for them in our ticket shop.
- I have bought a ticket, but have lost it or have not received it. What now?
After ordering your ticket, you will always receive a confirmation email containing the QR code. Keep this email safe so that you do not lose it. This is one QR code for the entire group.
- Did you not receive the first (confirmation) email?
First, check your spam folder. Still can't find it? You may have made a mistake in the spelling of your email address. If so, please contact kerstmarkt.gemeentegrot@valkenburg.nl.
- Did you receive the confirmation email, but have you lost it?
No worries. You will receive the confirmation email with the QR code again the day before your visit.
- I bought tickets and everything is canceled, will I get my money back?
Yes, if the government and security region decide that the Christmas Market Municipal Cave must close, the ticket fees will be refunded.
- If I bought tickets and I or someone close to me gets sick and we can't come, will I get my money back?
No, unfortunately refunds are not possible. However, we can always see what we can do for you. We will check whether the tickets can be rescheduled to another date and time, based on availability. Please contact kerstmarkt.gemeentegrot@valkenburg.nl for more information.
- I bought tickets and made a mistake in the date or time block, can I still change them to the right date or time block?
Yes, depending on availability, we can see if the tickets can be rescheduled to another date and/or time. Please contact kerstmarkt.gemeentegrot@valkenburg.nl for this.
- I bought a ticket but can't/do not want to come anymore, do I get my money back?
No, refunds are not possible.
- Can I also pay for my order by invoice?
